Tussar is a fabric very close to my heart. I vividly remember having a natural Tussar/beige kurta with a bright yellow dupatta n Churidar set as practically my first memorable Indianwear.
And boy oh boy, how I love it, how I love myself in it, I must have been 16 or 17 though. And that’s when my love affair with Tussar silks started.
Cut to date, I have a pretty saree in Tussar, I have a bunch of dupattas & I love the texture of this fabric.
I happen to get my hands on a small lot of hand painted Mughal bootas on a desi Tussar & I knew exactly what I would want to make of it.
And here we are, a nice Angrakha/overlap kurta with a patch of hand painted flowers on a tonal fabric, accented with potli buttons & paired with a natural Color organic cotton pajama.
Done in 3 lovely hues of sage green, blush pink, haldi yellow.
